God is in control.
God is in control.
God is in control.
God is in control.
God is in control.
I keep telling myself this. If I say it enough, maybe it will sink in.
We all know that life can't be roses all the time, that we will all have trials and upsets. This is our time. Obviously, our house is a huge issue. We've been patient and optimistic. Now, that seems to be coming to a stop. We are having to daily remind ourselves not to get discouraged. We must remind ourselves that we are blessed and fortunate. We aren't starving. We have a roof over our heads. Our kids are healthy.
BUT......it doesn't look like we will be getting back into our house anytime soon. We were hoping things would be settled soon, but it doesn't look like it. I won't go into details.
We have some major decisions coming up, financially, emotionally, and physically.
I have to put my faith and trust in God. He is in control and has a plan for all of this. I just wish He would clue me in.

Happy Birthday Lily!
One year ago today, we welcomed Lily Grace into our lives. She has been such a sweet blessing and a great addition! Our family is now complete.
I just want to share a few great things about my sweet angel baby :)
Lily loves remotes and phones. She will grab one any chance she gets. She will also find a way to take the batteries out of these. She likes to suck on the remote batteries. Such a crazy girl! There have been many a day when I walk in to find a battery hanging out of her mouth.
Lily also loves the bathroom. YUCK!!! She likes to go into the bathroom and pull all of the toilet paper off the roll and drag it across the room. Occasionally, she likes to eat the toilet paper.
She loves to take a bath. She even signs bath and says BA. She has discovered splashing in the tub. She has these little pond squirt toys. Those are her favorite. Sebastian showed her how to squirt them. She likes to squirt herself in the mouth. She even gives them to me and demands that I squirt her.
Lily LOVES bread. She takes after her daddy. She also loves all things sweet, especially chocolate. She loves rice and gravy. That, she gets from me. Her daddy's weird plain rice didn't get passed on to her. If she hears or sees food packages opening, she will be at your side in a heartbeat begging for it, even if she's not hungry.
My sweet angel baby loves to dance. Anytime she hears music, she has to stop and dance. She knows when I put pandora on that the good times are about to start. I love to watch Eric and her dance.
Miss Lily has a temper! She does not like you to take anything from her or tell her no. Come on, who does? She will scream at the top of her lungs and cry big crocodile tears. She has even taken to falling down when Sebastian takes something from her. She makes it look like he pushed her. We were fussing at him until we finally saw what that little booger was doing!
I could go on and on but I won't. My sweet girl is a true blessing from God. She makes all of us smile. I couldn't be a prouder mommy!

New Year
Today, I sit here watching my sweet babies play. Lily runs around and says, "Mommy, Mommy!" Sebastian is doing chores so he can play the Wii. A typical morning!
There are a few things that have been going on since I last posted. The first and biggest is we are not in our house. Issac messed it up pretty bad and we had to gut it. We are waiting on the lawyer and insurance company before anything happens. That is a whole new story that just makes me angry.
We are very blessed to have wonderful friends. Kristy is letting us stay in her little cottage behind her house. It's not big, but it's a roof over our heads. We have food to eat, our bodies are clothed, and we have heat/air. It shows that we don't need a lot to live. We had all of this space at our house and material possessions. We were spoiled. Now we have very little and very little space. We are still happy and healthy. Sure, I would love to be back in my house. I would love to sleep in a room without a little girl who likes to make all kinds of noises at night. I would love to have my own bathroom. Those things would be WONDERFUL, but I can and am living without it.
The next thing
My church is fantastic. They have been there through lots of trials this past year. They were there and feeding us when Lily was born, when I was in the hospital, when I had surgery, and the latest with the house. They have prayed for us, been friends to us, and supported us through it all. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful brothers/sisters in Christ.
Now the irritating/irksome part of life: I will probably offend people with this but I don't care.
I know that some of us are not happy that Obama was reelected. We all knew it would happen, we just didn't want to see it happen. He is a liar. He is scum. He is a bully. He has no interest for the people of this nation. He is only interested in what he can do to gain more power and money for himself. I think he is a disgusting man!
Our nation is being torn apart and most people aren't seeing that or don't care. History is repeating itself (Nazi Germany). We are loosing our freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom to bear arms. We are being taxed out the butt! AND we have no say in it. Aren't these all reasons why we had the American Revolutionary War? We teach these things to our children and yet we let them happen to us. How much more can our nation take? Not much. We are bankrupting our nation, morals, and families.
Things that are really bothersome in our government:
1. We have a huge debt and our "representative and senators" (who really on represent themselves and people who have ton of money) just got a pay raise while raising our taxes!
2. Obamacare is a joke! Let's make everyone HAVE to buy insurance. We are currently spending $600 month for insurance on Eric and me. GOOD LORD! I could save that money and pay for going to the doctor with change to spare. How is Obamacare helping families??? It's not! Healthcare is going to go downhill and we are going to have the poorest health services in the world. Thanks to a socialist policy.
3. Businesses like Hobby Lobby have to make a choice: either go against their faith and religious beliefs or pay millions of dollars in fines a day. WOW!!! Thanks Obama for taking away religious freedoms. You can't tell me or convince me that being a business means you have to compromise what you believe.
4. If you have a gun, you've probably registered it. HA!!! Soon, they will ban guns and they know you have them. No since trying to deny you have them, you've registered them. They will come after them. It's happened before. Also, Illinois is about to put a bill out that does that exact thing!!!!
5. Good luck protesting against our government. If they get wind of it and it's big enough, all the have to do is send a Secret Service agent to be around. Then you will be arrested and could face up to 10 years in prison.
6. Since 9/11, if you are considered to be a terrorist (even if it's not true), you can be arrested and have everything searched and torn apart. All without a warrant! Oh yeah, and they can hold you indefinitely. Nice, there go some more of our basic rights!
I am not going to keep going. It saddens my heart that we are living now in a nation that has let this idiot of a president ruin and rip apart our Constitution. Is it all Obamas fault? No. It's our nation's fault for letting him do this. It's our nation's fault for being so wrapped up in what can the government give me! Too many have sat back and done and said nothing. Those that do say something are considered to be crazy. Well I am joining the crazy nuts today. I am disgusted with the way our government is. It won't be long before the dollar collapses and our nation is split. It won't be long before our country is nothing more. Great job Mr. President. You have in one term destroyed most of what makes this nation great.
You can dislike or disagree with what I have said and that's fine. It's a free country. Right?????

Homeschooling has Began
This is our first week of homeschooling. It's been a crazy whirlwind! The decision was made to homeschool Sebastian for many reasons. I am not going to bore you with the whys but just know there were reasons :)
This first week, I have learned many things about Sebastian. The first being is he is so smart!! I knew he was smart, but he just gobbles up information. We are doing a Curious George unit this week. He loves Curious George. It's his favorite! He says he is like George. Anyway, he is reading the books almost entirely on his own. WOW!!! These are 2-3rd grade level books. I am impressed! We have talked about who the authors are and their lives. He loves that he can actually see pictures of H.A. and Margaret Rey. He loves their story. They escaped from Germany when a war came. He knows they left on bicycles and only carried with them the pictures of George and the ideas for the book. We've made Curious George Banana Bread. We've satisfied our curiosity and signed up for a library card. He's eating up homeschool. Yes, we have phonics time. Yes, we have math time. Yes, we have social living time. We do everything he would do in school. We just get to have more fun and more flexibility.
Next week, we are going to study plants and do some experiments with them. I am excited that I have finished my lesson plans already. I still should go in and put the standards for phonics and reading, but there are so many and they always come up every week. I have to say I don't miss all of the paperwork that goes along with teaching in a public school. I also don't miss having to coral 24 kids with different behaviors/personalities. I can focus on the most important student to me: Sebastian. I know where he is on fire and where he needs to work. I can cook, clean, take care of Lily and teach him all in a day and not feel totally overwhelmed.
Are things perfect? No. Of course not. Homeschooling takes a lot of patience, discipline, routines, and organization. Most of which I have to work on :)
We are finding our rhythm. We are enjoying being with family. I am lucky enough to take care of my children at home and not have to work. God is good. He has even sent us a sweet girl to take care of after school. Sebastian does his homework when she does hers. Then, they play. They play cards and hide and seek. It's great that he has someone to play with and socialize with everyday. The best part is Lily let's her hold her. My little fuss bucket likes Alayna.
I am enjoying myself and so is Sebastian. Lily loves that I am home all day and I am sure the daycares like that, too (Lily would probably scream the whole time). Eric has been working nonstop lately. He is up and gone early and comes home late. That's the only downside. We don't get to see him much. I know that he would work like this whether or not I was working or not. He is a great man and I am lucky to have him.

Returning to Normal
I have been out of pocket lately. I had surgery a couple of weeks ago. I had my nasty gallbladder taken out and have been recovering.
There are a few things that you need to know if you have to have this wonderful, little procedure done.
1st
Having surgery on your belly SUCKS!!! I had to hold a pillow against my stomach to get up and down. Yes, including going to the bathroom. For all those ladies who have had c-sections, you have my greatest sympathy. I don't ever want to have anymore babies if it results in a c-section.
2nd
Percocet 10's and I don't have a love relationship. I felt like I was having an out of body experience everytime I took one. I would be fine for about 15 minutes and the BOOM I felt like I was floating away. It did help the pain, though. I guess that's good. I don't like not feeling my body. It's a bit creepy. It's like those shows you see where the guy is looking down at his body. I would just look down at my hand and wonder if it was really mine.
3rd
I want a big, fat, juicy cheeseburger or fried chicken. Can I have it? No! Come on that's not fair! All the good stuff is off the table. I want to clog my arteries and eat whatever I want. Unfortunately, my poor, deprived belly says I can't. It's been 2 weeks and I have to wait at least 4 weeks until I can chance eating those yummy meals. On the plus side, this not eating anything has dropped 5 pounds. Woohoo! I can fit back into some of my pre-pregnancy clothes.
Any who!
Sebastian has been visiting all hs grandparents. He loved going to the alligator park, hiking a nature trail, watching Ice Age 4, going to a fair, camping and fishing at Indian Creek, riding bikes, and playing with all the puppy dogs. Holy cow! How am I going to get him to come home with me? I am so glad that he has been able to get some love from his grandparents. He missed me!!! He came in the door and ran and hugged me. He's been randomly giving me hugs and kisses. Geez! I love that boy.
Lily has been a rotten mess! Thanks Daddy! She loves to take walks in her stroller. She wants to be held constantly. Her daddy misses her when he works so much so he holds her and lets her sleep on his chest. Secretly, I don't mind. I like that he is so in love with our kids.
Lily has been rolling over for a bit now. She likes to sleep on her belly. She has two teeth on the bottom now and is sitting up almost completely on her own. She still wobbles a bit, but for the most part she is sitting.
Well, enough for now. Have a wonderfully, blessed day.

Hospitals, Pain and Blessings
This past week has been a whirlwind. I went to the hospital Sunday and was sent home with pain meds. I set up to see a surgeon to get my gall bladder taken out. Tuesday, the pain had me in tears and off I went again to the hospital. This time they admitted me. Wednesday, the surgeon comes in and says that she doesn't think it's my gall bladder. She wanted to do more tests. More tests lasted until Friday. They did a scope and saw no ulcers and the GI doctor said it was the gall bladder. I have to go in Monday at 7:45 to do a HIDA scan. Then, Tuesday meet with the surgeon again.
Tonight the pain is pretty intense, but I don't want to take any pain meds. It has made me so sad this week to pump and dump so much milk. Tomorrow, I will have to pump and dump through Wednesday. They will be injecting me with radiation. I wish I could just feed my girl. I know I would love to be feeling better and this is a step in the right direction. I just want to hold my little girl and feed her. I missed her so much this week while I was in the hospital. I cried just wanting to go home. I missed Sebastian, too. It hurts more when your babies aren't around and there's nothing you can do about it. I am glad he was with his grandparents and cousins. He had a wonderful time. For that I am grateful and thankful.
I am so worried that tomorrow will show that the gall bladder is working fine and they have no idea what is going on. Then what? More tests?? As a mom, our minds start going in a hundred bad directions. What if it is worse than the gall bladder? Cancer? I don't want to miss out on my babies getting bigger. I don't want to miss seeing Sebastian driving a car or Lily's first date. I know that my mind is running away with me and that I shouldn't be worried. I know that God is in control no matter what. Still, the mind wanders.
If it is the gall bladder, we will be pretty ticked to know that this could have been taken care of when I was in the hospital. This is just keeping me from my babies and pain free. I am exhausted with trying to figure these doctors out. I know they are doing their job and making sure. BUT REALLY???? You have only seen me for 5 minutes a day!!! How can you expect to know what is wrong with me? You pushed on my belly. I showed you where it hurt! 4 different doctors!!! Come on guys! Figure it out!
Anyway, I love my sweet babies and am so blessed that God has given them to me. They make me smile each day. Sebastian and his sweet, lovable self. Lily and her "I want my mama" cry. I love when Sebastian crawls up in bed and cuddles with me in the mornings. I love how excited he gets when he does something new. I love how Lily laughs at Sebastian. I love how she wakes up with the biggest smiles and jabbers all morning. These are the things I cherish.
Eric has been a rock through all of this. He has helped me pee, pump, and wiped away my tears. By the way, he never thought he would ever have to help me pee but hospital pain meeds deemed it necessary. I was very wobbly. He is the one who has held my hand and prayed with me. He is the one who has loved me through it all. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
All of that to say, pray for us. Pray that this test shows what is wrong. Pray that the doctors can fix the problem. Pray that my milk supply stays up. Pray that Sebastian doesn't worry too much. Pray that all goes well. God hears our prayers and answers them!

Exhauted
The title says it all!! I am so exhausted! Believe it or not, Eric let me sleep in this morning. I got out of bed at 8 am. Yes, 8:00 is sleeping in for me. I had my coffee and did the oh so crappy P90X today.
It all started off great......And then.......Lily woke up from her nap and cried ALL afternoon. She didn't want to be put down. She didn't want to be rocked. She didn't want to be held. Poor baby is teething. You can feel the little teeth trying to break through. Lily is miserable!!! We are miserable!! I am ready for my sweet angel to start feeling better. She is really funny though. SHe will start to cry and fuss if she doesn't see me or Eric and then we walk to her and smile and she starts laughing. That little heifer! She knows what she's doing.
Sebastian played ball tonight. It's the end of season tournament. Thank GOD!!! It's so hot outside. They won tonight. We will play again Wednesday. Can't wait. He is really having a great time playing. The coaches have been great with the kids. They are patient and really are fabulous with the kids. After several years of not so great coaches, we finally got one that's good. They are learning how to play the game and it shows. The coach always tells them they did a good job and praises them. He lets them know where they need to work. He is not there to glorify his child. He wants them all to have a good time.
I love my babies very much and all of the exhaustion is worth it! I just feel so blessed that I have these amazing gifts from God. I am blessed that I have a wonderful husband who works his tail off for us and loves us!
I am praying for several people tonight. Put a prayer up as well for them. God knows who they are and what they are going through. I pray that he comforts them and wraps them in His love. I pray that those around them will give them the support, prayers, and love that they need.
